Expected Outcomes
The purpose of the NOF-funded ICT training is to raise standards of pupils' achievements by increasing the expertise of serving teachers. The training is expected to bring all serving teachers up to the standard required of Newly Qualified Teachers entering the profession from 1999.
NEEDS ANALYSIS
Understanding the advantages and disadvantages of using ICT.
Using general purpose software (word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, Internet etc.)
Using ICT to aid record-keeping, analysis of data etc.
Accessing resources on the National Grid for Learning.
Accessing inspection reports on the Internet.
SILVER
Planning to use ICT to provide access to the curriculum for all pupils.
Preparing for lessons using ICT.
Employing the most appropriate technologies for whole class teaching.
Combining the use of ICT with other resources.
GOLD
Extending pupils' learning in the subject through the use of ICT.
Intervening and posing questions to assess the learning of pupils using ICT.
Enabling pupils to demonstrate their knowledge, understanding and skills in the subject while using ICT.
Ensuring that pupils' learning in the subject is not masked by the use of ICT.
Judging how the use of ICTcan alter expectations of pupils' attainment.
Judging the effectiveness of using ICT in achieving teaching objectives.
